Actor's Rep opens "Bridge & Tunnel" with Karen Stephens September 30.
Bob Carter's Actor's Workshop & Repertory Co. (Actor's Rep) will present Carbonell award best actress nominee Karen Stephens in Bridge & Tunnel, a one-woman show by Sarah Jones. Karen portrays a wide variety of characters talking about their lives at an annual poetry-reading showcase.
The production is a tender and funny view of the multicultural immigrant makeup of the outer boroughs of New York City. The phrase "bridge and tunnel" refers to people commuting to the City from boroughs and suburbs.
Bridge & Tunnel opens 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 for a 4-week run, with shows on Friday, September 30 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 2 at 2 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 9 at 2 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 22, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 23, 2 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 28 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 29, 8 p.m.; Sunday, Oct. 30, 2 p.m. Tickets will be available online Saturday, Sept. 24 at www.actorsrep.org or through www.BoxOfficeTickets.com. They are $15 for students, and $25 adults.
Bob Carter will direct the production. Bridge & Tunnel, a Tony(r)
award-winner, was originally produced off-Broadway by Oscar-winner Meryl Streep.
