Brendan Begley Irish Music Master class and Ceili

 LAKE WORTH, FL — The wild and beautiful music of West Kerry is coming to Brogues Down Under in Lake Worth on Tuesday, Aug 14. Brendan Begley (Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich) has come from Ireland to conduct an Irish Music Master Class for musicians at 5pm.  This will be followed by a dance class and ceili (pronounced kay-lee) at 6:30pm with Brendan performing on the two-button accordion.  This once-in-a-lifetime event costs $15.  Be sure to enjoy the superb food and drink that Brogues Down Under offers.

 

Kerry accordion player Brendan Begley (Breanndán Ó Beaglaoich), a well-known and accomplished performer of Irish traditional music, is considered the best of current traditional accordionists.  Known as 'The Genial Giant from Dingle', Brendan has toured extensively at home and in Estonia, Finland, France and the USA.  As a member of the renowned Boys of the Lough, Brendan has also performed at the world famous Edinburgh Festival in Scotland and at the memorable special celebration of the Boys 30th anniversary in Sweden.  You can even find videos of Brendan performing with his talented sons in Moscow.  See more of Brendan on his web site at http://www.brendanbegley.com/

 

Note to Musicians: For players of Irish music, Brendan will give a workshop in the Kerry style of music the afternoon of the concert. Players of all skill levels are invited to the workshop. It will be great fun!

Note to Dancers: Brendan will perform on the two-row button accordion. and will teach the dance known as the West Kerry Set, a traditional dance known to very few.
