Boynton Beach, FL…The City of Boynton Beach Recreation and Parks Department Youth Empowerment Center invite youth, ages 12 – 21 to a very special open house. Join us at the Ezell Hester, Jr. Community Center, 1901 N. Seacrest Blvd. Saturday, April 17 from 12 – 4 p.m. Youth will learn all about the types of programs available through the Youth Empowerment Center. Refreshments will be served.
Programs offered through Youth Empowerment Center include:
Lamplighter (Male Mentoring) Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs
Community Service Sister & Sista’s Female Mentoring
Steppin’ Out 2 Step In - Dance Project Car Restoration Project
Employment & Life Skills Weight Lifting
Youth Teen Council Art of Filmmaking (Video & Music Production)
Homework/Tutoring AIM—Art is Motivation
Summer programs include Lifeguard Training and Certification and African Drums. All programs and services are provided at the Carolyn Sims Center, 225 NW 12 Avenue at no cost to the participant.
At the Open House, youth will be able to register for programs that will help to enrich their lives and empower them to become involved and in control of their free time through fresh activities. Teens can also join the Teen Council to help determine the kinds of programs that will be the most beneficial and engaging.
