On Monday, November 16, 2015 the Boynton Beach Historical Society is pleased to welcome Larry Vick, a member of the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG), as he presents “Trace Your Ancestry and Find Relatives Using Your DNA.”  The presentation will show how to use your DNA to trace your deep ancestry (before written records) as well as your more recent ancestry.  It will also explain how the latest advances in DNA testing make it possible for both men and women to use their DNA to find living relatives and to test family traditions about ethnicity.  Examples will highlight the available DNA testing options to augment your traditional family history research and where genetic genealogy is headed.

About The Speaker:

Larry Vick is the administrator of the VICK and Allied Families DNA Project and a member of the International Society of Genetic Genealogy (ISOGG).  Larry is also one of six 23andMe Ancestry Ambassadors.  He is the past librarian for the Genealogical Society of Palm Beach County.

About the Boynton Beach Historical Society

The Boynton Beach Historical Society was founded in 1968.  Our mission is to act as a living repository for Boynton Beach's traditions and history.  We maintain property entrusted to us and collect, preserve and interpret items of historical and antiquarian significance.  The Society seeks to preserve Boynton’s history through a broad spectrum of regular programs and other special events such as guided history strolls and partnering with the City's art celebrations. We have been honored to have programs presented featuring outstanding authors, scholars, dramatists, and others.  Our meetings are held the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m., September-April, except for December.  The meetings are held at the Boynton Beach City Library unless it is closed for a holiday; our alternate location is the Boynton Beach Woman's Club.  Catch us on http://www.boyntonhistory.org/ or on FaceBook at https://www.facebook.com/historicboyntonbeach
