“Boston Strong” Fundraiser for The One Fund™
at Boston’s on the Beach, June 26, 2013
For over 30 years, Boston’s on the Beach has held a strong, legendary tie to their namesake city. The owners and patrons of this popular sports bar have a special place in their hearts for the victims who suffered on Patriots’ Day at the Boston Marathon. Heeding the call, Boston’s on the Beach is hosting a local fundraising event for The One Fund™ on Wednesday, June 26, starting at 6 p.m. and continuing throughout the night with music, special pricing, giveaways, and a silent auction. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. “In the wake of the horrific events of that day, we are all patriots searching for a way to help,” said Mark DeAtley, Boston’s general manager.
ESPN 760/106.3 joins the Palm Beach Runners, Palm Beach Marathon Training, and the Boca Raton Road Runners in supporting the event, along with Alpine Jaguar of Ft. Lauderdale. Businesses, elected officials, athletes, residents, patrons, local first responders, and visitors are invited to participate in “standing strong” against the kind of senseless violence that occurred in Boston. Boston’s on the Beach will be donating the evening’s proceeds to The One Fund.
The lineup of South Florida bands donating their talent and services, each playing for 45 minutes and providing entertainment for the evening, include McGowan’s Chair, the Amber Leigh Band, Funkabilly Playboys, Blues Dragon, Famous Frank Ward, and the Blue Tuesday All-Stars.
