Oct. 17: An inaugural black-tie dinner dance benefiting Rotary Club of Downtown Boca Raton will feature the George Long Awards, named after the city’s first appointed mayor in 1924. Funds raised will go toward club grants supporting health and wellness needs in the community. Time is 6:30 p.m. Cost is $250. Call 299-1429 or visit rotarydowntownbocaraton.org.
