As much as $40,000 in scholarship funds will be on the line when the seventh annual Bob Toski Junior Tournament is staged on Thursday, June 20 at Boca Grove Country Club in Boca Raton. Registration is under way for a field expected to max out at 75 players. Boys and girls ages 7-9 will compete in the 9-hole event and ages 10-17 in the 18-hole tournament. Cost is $45 for 9 holes and $65 for 18 holes. Scholarships will be awarded to deserving college-bound players. Last year the top prizes were $10,000 to both one male and one female player and Toski said he expects those totals to almost double this year. The 18-hole tournament gets under way with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., followed by the 9-hole event at 10:45 a.m. The winner of a closest-to-the-pin competition on a par-3 hole will win two tickets to the par-3 contest at the 2000 Masters.
