FAU Libraries will host “Bernstein on Broadway,” a piano-vocal recital with commentary by south Florida theater critic Bill Hirschman, on Monday, June 23 at 7 p.m. at the Wimberly Library. During the recital, two distinguished vocalists will perform selections from “West Side Story,” “Wonderful Town,” “Candide” and other songs composed by Leonard Bernstein, who often used New York City and Broadway as inspiration for his musicals. The program will conclude FAU Libraries’ three-day “Spirit of America Festival: A celebration of Music and Arts,” which salutes composer Leonard Bernstein and showcases the libraries’ Print Music Collection, the Marvin and Sybil Weiner Spirit of America Collection, the Harold L. Glasser Collection and other special collections. Tickets for “Bernstein on Broadway” are $15 and can be purchased by calling 800-564-9539 or at www.fauevents.com.
