Art Rocks – A Celebration of Music through 3-D Art
And a Salute to Lake Worth-It- A Lake Worth Music Festival
Opening Friday August 6th, 6 PM to 9 PM
Art Rocks, an exploration of the many ways music and the visual arts intertwine; will be celebrated by the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery, 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. The event will take place on August 6th from 6-9 PM. The exhibit will be on display from August 6th to August to August 20th.
Among the earliest works of art among primitive groups were those of musical instruments. The oldest known musical instrument, a decorative flute, was recently excavated. Drums are among the most primitive and sophisticated forms of early musical expression. To this end, drums have become the theme of the evening with hand made drums on display in the gallery. We have invited local drummers to come and play, and invite all who come to the gallery to pick up a drum and create their own music.
The artists of Clay Glass Metal Stone gallery have celebrated the music and harmony of the planet through each of the mediums used within the gallery. Many of the artists work while listening music and use musical forms and metaphors in their creations. Music inspires the mind, hands, and body!
Visitors to the opening are invited to bring their own drums to play or acquire one of the many drums for sale, created by Betty Wilson. Gallery artists will be on hand to encourage all visitors to participate in the fun and enjoy the rhythmic waves and beats. Any open space in the gallery will welcome dancing to the beat.
This is also the weekend of the great Lake Worth-It concert in Bryant Park. On August 7, Bryant Park will explode with the music of local Lake Worth Bands and an appearance by Of Montreal. Friday night will see previews of this First Annual Event with musicians throughout the community. The gallery welcomes your participation in combining the art and music we all have within us.
A wine and cheese tasting takes place at every opening.
