The Contemporary Collection of Donna Schneier at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Donna Schneier is a prominent collector and pace-setter and documentarian of the significant artists and movements in the field of contemporary jewelry. She has assembled several collections over many decades and has donated these collections to museums with a single mindedness that is inspiring. Her collection of work, primarily from the 1980s went to the Museum of Art and Design (New York) and became a traveling exhibition under the name of Zero Carat. In 2008, She gifted parts of her collection dating from the 1960s to the Racine Art Museum (Wisconsin), and the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York). In 2013 the Metropolitan Museum of Art showcased this work with a catalog and exhibition and it is now part of the permanent museum art collection.
