Camilo Matiz is an award-winning Colombian director and artist. His film, 1989, was conceived as an art piece about human nature, starring Vincent Gallo, Carolina Gomez and Erick Cordoba and was an Official Selection of in Semaine de la Critique as the closing film for the 2009 Cannes Film Festival.
Although it received a huge recognition, Matiz chose not to publicly screen or distribute the film. Only 6 prints in 35mm were made and signed by the artist, all of them in hands of collectors. His artistic expressions through film, photography and other media, has received numerous awards.
