The Boca Raton Public Library is pleased to present a new art exhibit, “Soul Doodles.” These abstract paintings are anchored in the sometimes comedic but always earnest reality of artist Scott Jeffries. He was named one of the ten best visual artists in Palm Beach County by New Times Broward-Palm Beach. After years of practicing law in Philadelphia, Jeffries moved to Boca Raton to pursue his true passion as an artist. As he developed his technique, his abstract tendency became more pronounced: trees transformed into wisps of color; bodies simplified into shapes; fish turned into loud, neon personalities; faces, just splashes of primary color. Ultimately, Jeffries’ painting is an irreverent expression of his sub-conscious, an invitation into his brain where space and form are imagined from a decidedly different angle. “Soul Doodles” will run from February 12 through March 19, 2018 at the Downtown Library, an Art in Public Places venue, at 400 NW 2nd Avenue. The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular library hours.
