Halloween-Lake Worth

A Fright Night on “K” Street

 Friday, October 26th, 2012

5PM-10 PM

Halloween in downtown Lake Worth will be a Freaky Family Friday evening of Fantasy, Fright and Fun.  The entire town will participate with candy, contests, concerts and costumes.  “K” Street will be blocked off- filled with hay and pumkins and will become the epicenter of events.  Trick-or-Treating will take place throughout the town.  The fun starts at 5PM.  All events are free to the public.

Friday evening, the forth Friday Evening of the month will be packed with tiny costumed revelers vying for prizes.  Costume contests start at 6PM in the Cultural Plaza.  Costumes will be judged for the scariest, the most creative and the best-overall.  First up are the tots, children up to six years of age.  Next, the children 7-12 will be judged.  Finally, your pets will be judged in the same categories.  (Costumed Pet Pictures will be taken at Paws on the Avenue- Contact Caroline Clure for your pet Photo Op.  This is a long standing tradition of Lake Worth.)

“K” Street will be filled with fun and games for all.  Up and down the avenue, shops, restaurants and galleries as well as holiday vendors, will be rolling out their Halloween treats.  Eerie music will ring out for Monster Mash Dancers and Witch Doctor Brewers. A Scary-oke band will be playing for all those who want to shiver our timbers with their off-key renditions.  All in good fun as this is a Family Affair.  Zombies beware!

For the adults among us, look for costume contests at all of our local restaurant entertainment venues.  Southshores’, Brogues’ and Dave’s are sure to rock all through the holiday weekend.

Children from all of our local schools are welcome to trick-or-treat on Halloween Day.  The town will be loaded with treats and the shops and restaurants will be done-up in their Halloween best.   Bands, restaurants and vendors will be priming the Halloween pump with eerie sounds, foods and wares that befit the season.  Gallery and shop displays exhibit the color the season deserves.  Candy treats are everywhere.  The Ghosts of Lake Worth are on the prowl this Friday evening.

The Downtown Cultural Alliance (DCA) is a non-profit association of Downtown merchants and residents working together to keep Downtown Lake Worth vibrant and welcoming.  The DCA is working the Lake Worth CRA and LULA, the City of Lake Worth and the Lake Worth Chamber of Commerce to coordinate Evenings on the Avenue, the Second Saturday Sidewalk Sales, all Holiday Events and special events.
