A Friday Night of Arts in Lake Worth Clay•Glass•Metal•Stone Cooperative Gallery Opening Friday December 4, 6 PM to 10 PM Featured Artists: Tracy Rosof-Petersen, Sheri Goldstein, Patricia Peters Pre-Sale 2010 Calendar- Palm Beach Artists UncoveredCl Tracy Rosof-Petersen, Sheri Goldstein, Patricia Peters will be featured artists at the December 4 gallery opening of ClayGlassMetalStone at 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. The opening will take place from 6-10 PM. They are three of the artists featured in the 2010 Calendar “Palm Beach Artists Uncovered” which will be unveiled the following week. Lake Worth artist Tracy Rosof-Petersen, famous for her mammoth sized pots hand thrown on the potters’ wheel, is currently working on a large ceramic mosaic mural as part of a Palm Beach County public works project. She is featured in a full page ad in Ceramics Monthly and has appeared many times in chART magazine a combination of charitable giving with the arts. One can often count on Tracy for potters’ wheel demonstrations. Her gallery contributions range from large amphorae and dog watering troughs, bowls and bases carved with running figures, wind chimes, night-lights and ornaments festooned with peace symbols. Her “uncovered” page in the calendar is a ceramic artist classic. Greenacres artist Sheri Goldstein is a glass artist whose works fly out of the gallery. Her Judaica including glass Mezuzas and Menorahs are highly popular this time of the year. Sheri’s high-end decorative creations are available with their own displays. Her works range from jewelry to many forms of exquisite utilitarian items. Among her most popular creations are the bottles that she forms into serving pieces. Sheri is currently studying architecture and is certified as a Green Architect. Her page in the calendar combines the sepia tones of the past with the vibrant colors of her work. Her presence emphasizes the classic lines of a well formed work of art. Delray artist Patricia Peters has just introduced her “Joyous Women” series into the gallery. They are bronze full figured dancing maidens who whirl and twirl on rotating pedestals. Three smaller figures rotate around each other on their own stand. Patty has turned everything she has touched into a work of art. She began as a painter but has fallen in love with three dimensional forms. From concrete and plaster to clay and bronze she crafts wonderful figures that radiate pure joy. Patty poses with her impressive women on her page in the calendar. She blends into the display giving one pause to wonder where artist ends and art begins. The Calendar is the creation of local master photographer Durga Garcia who is the official photographer of the Clay Glass Metal Stone Gallery and Flamingo Clay Studio. Pre-sale of the calendar at the gallery will take place up until December 4. Calendars are available in advance for $55 for five. Upon arrival on December 10 they will be priced at $19.95 each. A wine tasting, courtesy of artist and wine broker Barbara Eden takes place at every opening. Clay•Glass•Metal•Stone Cooperative Gallery is sponsored by the Flamingo Clay Studio, a non-profit arts organization whose mission is to provide affordable studio and gallery space for three-dimensional artists. The gallery is located at 605 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. Hours are Wednesday-Sunday, 1PM-9PM. Gallery openings are the first and third Friday of each month from 6-9 PM.
