PBSO Hosts 2nd Annual Unity Cup 2011 Soccer Tournament

On Saturday, September 24th and Sunday, 25th, 2011 Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting the 2nd Annual Unity Cup 2011 Soccer Tournament at Memorial Park in Lake Worth

The purpose of this event is to celebrate the diversity of the community by coordinating various activities around a soccer tournament. This two day community event is an ongoing gesture of goodwill aimed at building trust and relationships with the Latino community of City of Lake Worth. Day one will consist of a resource fair. Agencies that provide services to the Latino community in the City of Lake Worth will be made available to offer the public information on what services are available to them, i.e. Blood Bank of South Florida, the Palm Beach County Library, the Domestic Violence Unit of the PBSO, Wachovia Bank, and other agencies. This will be an opportunity for the agencies to meet potential recipients that might not normally be reachable.  There will also be activities and soccer-related contests for children.

The soccer tournament will start on Saturday, September 24th, with the opening ceremonies starting at 10:00 am and the first match at 11:00 am. There will be four games on Day One and three games on Day Two.
