The YMCA of the Palm Beaches will host its 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, December 11 at The Breakers Palm Beach. The breakfast begins at 7:45 a.m. and culminates at 9:15 a.m.

This year's featured speaker is NFL’s all-time leading rusher, three-time Super Bowl Champion, NFL Hall of Famer and Winner of Dancing with the Stars, Season 3, Emmitt Smith.

Smith was born and raised in Pensacola, Fla., and had dreams of playing for the Dallas Cowboys ever since he was a child.  Even after being told more than once that he was too small for football, Smith proved his critics wrong and went on to play for the University of Florida, setting numerous records, many of which remain unbroken. In 1990, he was drafted by the Cowboys and went on to play 15 years in the NFL, setting even more records that, to this day, remain unsurpassed. In recent years, Smith transitioned to real estate development, owning and operating a portfolio of businesses in the commercial real estate development, construction and finance industries.

Honorary Chairs for the event are Dan and Denise Hanley, longtime supporters of the YMCA of the Palm Beaches.  Planning committee members include Kathy Leone, Cathy Hedrick, Scott McCranels, Meredith Biggs, and Michael Wall.

The event is an annual sell-out and attracts more than 500 guests, including community leaders and residents, elected officials, educators, and influential representatives from churches and synagogues.

Sponsorship opportunities start at $3,800 and include a table of 10 with a VIP Meet & Greet for 2 with Emmitt Smith, prior to the Breakfast. Individual VIP Meet & Greet tickets are on sale for $500/ticket and Preferred Seating tickets are now on sale for $300.  For more information please call the YMCA at 561.968.9622, ext. 237 or email Peter Thate: pthate@ymcapalmbeaches.org.

Since 1917, YMCA of the Palm Beaches has served Palm Beach County, working side-by-side with local families and neighbors to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. The Y has a goal of never turning away an individual or family from a needed program or service due to their inability to pay. Thanks to the generous support of those in the community, the YMCA of the Palm Beaches is able to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars in financial assistance each year.
