For those seeking information on the Florida ballot initiatives this year, the Boca Raton Public Library offers “2016 Florida Ballot Initiatives Explained,” the latest in their Civic Lectures for Savvy Citizens series.  This free presentation will explain the initiatives in layman’s terms so voters are better prepared before going to the polls. Funded by the Friends of the Boca Raton Public Library, this program will be presented by a speaker from the League of Women Voters of Florida.

The LWV, a non-partisan political organization, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and encourage active participation of all citizens in government to help make democracy work. Learn more about the League’s mission and activities at http://thefloridavoter.org.

“It is easy to get lost in the legalese of the proposed amendment changes,” notes Oyuki Poletz, Program Services Librarian. “The League of Women Voters understands this, and their presentation breaks down the issues in an accessible manner for all voters to understand.”
