The witches are dusting off their brooms — it's time to ride! Achievement Centers for Children & Families will host its 15th Annual BETR Project’s Witches of Delray Beach Bike Ride Presented by Colony Hotel on Saturday, October 24th, the flagship event of a month-long lineup of Witches of Delray festivities benefiting under-resourced children and families in Delray Beach and surrounding communities.
Fifteen years ago, a handful of costumed cyclists took over a few blocks of Atlantic Avenue for an afternoon. Today, the Witches Ride has grown into one of Delray Beach's most anticipated fall traditions, closing down Downtown for a morning of costumes, community, and cause.
This year's flight path holds steady at two miles, sweeping from City Hall down Atlantic Avenue and into Pineapple Grove.
On Saturday, October 24th, 300 costumed cyclists will take to the streets for the main event, escorted by the Delray Beach Police Department as they wind through Downtown. This year's Grand Witch of the Avenue Title Sponsor is BETR Project. “I’ve spent years working alongside the kids and teens at Achievement Centers, so I’ve seen firsthand how every dollar raised changes lives and strengthens our community. That’s why BETR Project is proud to be this year’s Grand Witch of the Avenue Title Sponsor. When you know the impact of this mission, it’s a cause worth riding for,” said Julie Peyton, Founder of BETR Project.
The Colony Hotel and Cabana Club, where riders will turn around during their flight, is this year's Spell Caster of the Ave presenting sponsor. Schumacher Auto Group is a Village Coven sponsor. Patty Jones is a Witches Brewmaster sponsor. Deck 84 is a Coconut Cauldron sponsor, and Magic Potion sponsors include bluefrog Plumbing and Drain of Boynton Beach; Charity Thrift Stores; Intention Enterprises; Lady Lenormand, Putt'n Around; Ronnie Dunayer; Sunshine Dry Clean; and Universal Property & Casualty Insurance Company. Additional partners to date include City of Delray Beach; Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority; Delray Beach Police Department; Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill; MC’s Amanda Perna & Bongo; PopUp Bagels; and Richwagen's Delray Bike & Sport.
The ride takes off at 8:00 a.m. sharp (registration opens at 7am)from Delray Beach City Hall, with the celebration continuing after at Old School Square with music, mingling, and awards for Best Costume, Best Witch Cackle, Best Decorated Broom (Bike), and Best Group Theme.
Registration is $75 from August 15 through October 1st and $100 beginning October 2nd. www.tinyurl.com/witches2026
Once the ride wraps, the fun rolls on next door at Geronimo Tequila Bar and Southwest Grill, 105 E Atlantic Ave, Delray Beach, opening early at 10 a.m. just for the occasion. Riders and guests can toast the morning with family-friendly “spooky” brunch specials, and 10% of all sales that day will go directly back to Achievement Centers for Children & Families.
"Fifteen years in, the Witches Ride is more than just a tradition — it's a celebration of community and creativity," said Stephanie Seibel, CEO of the Achievement Centers. "What began as a fun, whimsical event has grown into powerful support for the families we serve. Each year, we're blown away by the enthusiasm and generosity that fills the streets. It's a beautiful reminder of what's possible when people come together for a cause that truly matters. We remain deeply grateful to the founders whose vision fifteen years ago made this tradition possible."
