Try ways to quiet yourself, and manage your stress. Meditation, massage, hot bubble baths, saunas, exercise, chanting, biofeedback and music can give calm and serene peacefulness. Someday I'm going to try hypnosis. Some of my friends go for "visual imagery" - thinking of a place where you feel good, relaxed and at peace. It might be a mountainside, a beach, a friend's bedroom - whatever place you have actually experienced relaxation and calm.
Anxieties, doubts and low esteem are among major stresses and can lead to disease.
Gradually, instruct each part of your body to let go, become soft and rest. Then relax with whatever images come up for you. Stay with this for three to five minutes, and take another minute or two to come out of the relaxation pattern. Try it; if you are not big on the more involved and disciplined forms of meditation, visual imagery or a variation of it may be for you.
