Planning agency tackles town’s future look — South Palm Beach Town Manager Jamie Titcomb said the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council will come to Town Hall for a meeting on Nov. 12 to discuss its master plan for the town, including everything from sidewalk reconfiguration to lighting, landscaping, bike lanes and potential crosswalks. He urged as many residents as possible to participate.
Town Hall roof gets bids — Titcomb reported that bids on replacing the Town Hall roof had started coming in from about a half-dozen bidders and so far ranged from $75,000 to $165,000. He said the town was committed to a hurricane-coded metal roof and was working with the town attorney to issue an Invitation To Bid with specific instructions on what will go into the construction. The council passed a motion to proceed with the ITB process.
Titcomb reported the town has been working with Sourcewell, a company that manages bidding and awarding contracts for all the projects involved in the renovation. The town is also working with another firm, Terracon, in addressing the environmental issues on site. All permissions for that work will have to be approved by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
