The Promise Fund celebrated receiving a $300,000 state appropriation with a check presentation, bringing together fund leadership, elected officials, community partners and care advocates to highlight the lifesaving impact of patient navigation. Participants included Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker, founder of Promise Fund; state Sen. Lori Berman; state Rep. Kelly Skidmore; Promise Fund Executive Director Jacqueline Marsan; Promise Fund board member Amy Young, a partner at Ballard Partners; and Genesis Community Health CEO DeAnna Warren. The money will support Promise Fund Navigators, guides who help uninsured and underinsured women overcome barriers that can prevent them from receiving timely health screenings, services and treatment.
