More than 25 volunteers worked under the direction of the Institute for Regional Conservation to improve the native plant biodiversity of the dune at one of the IRC’s regular events Oct. 19. ABOVE: IRC chief George Gann worked with Keith Buttry, owner of Neglected Plants nursery, to carry sea lavenders that they mixed into existing native plants at the public beach. BELOW: So many people volunteered that the IRC’s Cara Abbott joined Kimberlee Duke Pompeo and more than a dozen other volunteers to pick up trash. The next IRC educational and planting event is scheduled for Nov. 16 at Ocean Ridge Town Hall. Photos by Jerry Lower/The Coastal Star
