‘The 14th Colony’ on display at museum
What: Discover Florida’s role in the American Revolution through ‘America 250: The 14th Colony,’ a special exhibition exploring the territory’s unique place in the nation’s founding story. While 13 colonies declared independence, Florida remained loyal to the British Crown. The exhibition examines this often-overlooked chapter of history through imagery, Revolutionary War artifacts from local collectors, period costumes on loan from The Wick Theatre and Costume Museum, interpretive displays and more.
Where: Schmidt Boca Raton History Museum, 71 N. Federal Highway
When: Wednesdays to Saturdays, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. through Aug. 27, with a Town Hall talk July 22 and a historical re-enactment for kids Aug. 1.
