Four people escaped injury when the boat they were on caught fire in a finger canal just off the Intracoastal Waterway in Boca Raton. Boca Raton Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Jason Stout said the cause of the fire that destroyed the boat in the water behind Mulberry Drive was still under investigation. There was minor to moderate damage to two other boats that came in contact with the boat while it was ablaze and drifting. The fire was eventually extinguished by Boca Raton firefighters located both on a nearby dock and on the department’s fire boat. Delray Beach Fire Rescue assisted in fighting the blaze.
