An estimated 1,200 children received school-supply-filled backpacks at the nonprofit healthcare center’s Back 2 School Bash. The children, all of whom are patients at the center, set an attendance record at the 20-year-old event, which served 1,100 in 2013. ‘We are so appreciative of the community support that enables us to help so many children start their school year off right,’ Laura Kallus, the center’s executive director, said. ‘Scarlett Fave (above) has done an outstanding job of organizing this event for the past 12 years.’ Photo provided
