VOLUNTEERS & BALL KIDS NEEDED FOR 17 ITC SESSIONS
DELRAY BEACH— (January 10, 2010)—Officials with the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships (ITC) are looking for Volunteers and Ball Kids who will play a major role in the 9-day event that runs February 20-28 at the Delray Beach Stadium & Tennis Center. Because the first ATP Champions Tour in the United States has now become a part of the ITC, the number of sessions has increased to 17 from 13.
The ITC affords Volunteers a rare hands-on opportunity to work directly with players, spectators, media, officials, sponsors and tournament management. Positions include drivers, ushers, registration and office personnel and ticket takers. Individuals must be able to work at least 30 hours during the event; students will receive community service hours. Benefits of volunteering include complimentary event tickets, meals, parking, uniforms and souvenir discounts.
Ball Kids must be 12 years old, are required to attend three training sessions and work at least three sessions during the event. Training sessions are scheduled for February 10 and 15 from 5-7 pm and February 13 from 10 am until 12 noon. Ball kids receive uniforms, meals during working sessions, match tickets for families and friends and are invited to a post-tournament party.
Individuals can register to volunteer at www.YellowTennisBall.com , or receive more information by emailing volunteers@YellowTennisBall.com . For more information and to receive a Ball Kids application, email ballkids@YellowTennisBall.com . Further information can be obtained by calling the tournament office at 561-330-6000.
