Non-profit’s One More Time Thrift Shop has waiting list of families in
need of quality refurbished computers
When it announced in September that it was selling refurbished complete computer systems for less than $100 to help families meet their students’ back to school needs, The Lord’s Place One More Time Thrift Shop in West Palm Beach was deluged with customers wanting to buy the computers.
The non-profit thrift store, which sells quality used and new merchandise to help fund The Lord’s Place programs and services for the homeless, quickly sold all of the nearly 100 refurbished computers it had on hand and is now asking the public and local businesses to donate used computers so that they can refurbish them and meet the needs of their customers.
“We have a three-page long waiting list of customers who want to buy these computers so we hope we can get more computers donated to meet this need,” said The Lord’s Place One More Time Thrift Shop General Manager Dan Demicell. “There is an obvious need in the community for these computers for students to do their homework and we want to meet that need.”
To make a tax-deductible donation of used computers, including towers, monitors and keyboards, contact The Lord’s Place One More Time Thrift Shop at 561-494-0125, ext. 6 to arrange for pick-up of your donation. Donations can also be dropped off at The Lord’s Place One More Time Thrift Shop, located at 7600 S. Dixie Highway in West Palm Beach, one-half mile south of Forest Hill Blvd. Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
