Pembroke Pines, FL (December 19, 2024) — For the fourth consecutive year, Hayes Farms spread holiday cheer by donating Christmas trees to Children's Harbor in light of the holiday season. This annual heartfelt tradition gives the farm a chance to support Children’s Harbor’s mission to help strengthen the lives of kids and teens who have overcome trauma and abuse.

Hayes Farms was founded in 2009 by Jeremy Hayes, an experienced grower and University of Florida graduate. The local farm carefully inspects each tree individually before shipping them from their farms in North Carolina and Tennessee. The farm ensures that only the finest, most perfect Christmas trees make their way into homes in time for Christmas day. Not only did Hayes Farms hand select a beautiful tree for drop off, but volunteers also brought decorations and trimmed the trees for the teens living in campus housing.

By providing fresh, beautifully grown trees, Hayes Farms once again brought warmth and joy to the holiday season to create lasting memories for teens and their families residing at Children's Harbor. The heartwarming moment was decorated with the teen's eager excitement as they celebrated one of their favorite traditions.

“We are incredibly grateful to Hayes Farms for their generous donation of Christmas trees for the fourth year in a row,” said Tiffani Dhooge, President and CEO of Children’s Harbor. “Their kindness brings joy and holiday spirit to the teens and families at Children’s Harbor, creating cherished memories during this special season of giving.”

This spirit of generosity aligns perfectly with the mission of Children’s Harbor, whose main campus in Pembroke Pines provides a supportive family environment for teens in foster care and their younger siblings. The family support services program prevents kids from coming into foster care by providing free in-home counseling and support to families who are struggling in the community.

This meaningful relationship between Hayes Farms and Children’s Harbor embodies the spirit of community support, offering both tangible gifts and emotional encouragement to teens in foster care. It reflects a collective commitment to brightening the lives of young people and ensuring they feel valued and supported as they navigate through the holiday season.

About Children’s Harbor

Established in 1996, Children’s Harbor is a nationally accredited child welfare organization with

a mission to help strengthen families who are struggling in our community, while providing safe

shelter and support to teens in foster care so that they may grow into healthy, educated and

productive adults.

With the belief that children should feel safe, that family is worth fighting for and that cycles can

be broken, Children’s Harbor provides a harbor of hope and healing for children who have been

impacted by the trauma of child abuse. The main campus in Pembroke Pines provides a

supportive family environment for teenagers in foster care and their younger siblings. The family

support services program prevents kids from coming into foster care by providing free in-home

counseling and support to families who are struggling in the community. Additionally, Brown’s

Harbor is a supportive housing community dedicated to serving young adults, aged 18-23, who

have aged out of the foster care system. These young adults are provided with affordable

housing and the wrap-around support and independent living programs necessary to help them

overcome their trauma and navigate through the early stages of adulthood.
