“What can I say about the class? It was incredible,” said graduate Altonette Bethel. “The counselors were excellent!”

CPSFL’s housing outreach and Homebuyers Club coordinator Ludie Celucien emphasized the collaborative learning environment and said, “It’s not just hearing information from experts; it’s sharing among peers and learning together.”

The Riviera Beach Homebuyers Club is a six-session experience designed for residents ready to begin the pathway to homeownership. This free program is sponsored by the Riviera Beach Community Development Corporation and managed by Community Partners of South Florida.

Since 2012, RBCDC has been operating within the redevelopment area of Riviera Beach to acquire, rehabilitate, and operate affordable housing units and provide affordable housing for families.

CPSFL is proud to collaborate on the Homebuyers’ Club with the RBCDC, which also provides investment capital to low-income individuals and communities and engages in other activities for neighborhood improvement and community/economic development by providing sustainable business and job opportunities for low-income residents.

The purpose of the Homebuyers Club is to help residents navigate the home buying process and ensure they have the tools needed to purchase their first home. Each meeting provides helpful information about the following: home loans, credit reports and scores, debt reduction, down payment assistance and title services.

Riviera Beach residents needing extra guidance on how to set specific financial goals that lead to homeownership are eligible. In addition to providing practical instruction in ways to practice better money habits, the club helps residents set personal savings goals and empowers individuals to become involved in their community by joining a network and experiencing the feeling of being an active team member.

Now, the proud graduates look forward to working with CPSFL on the next step of finding and purchasing their dream homes right here in South Florida. CPSFL is committed to supporting these individuals as they embark on their homeownership journey, continuing its dedication to empowering communities through financial education and housing assistance.
