PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR (Full Time)

 

Town of Ocean Ridge (population 1,943) is seeking a motivated and qualified individual to fill the position of a full-time PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR. This is a working foreman position performing supervisory, administrative, and technical functions in the planning and management of the Public Works Department. This position is responsible for directing and coordinating all personnel, vendors, and operations within the Public Works Department, providing direct leadership to subordinate staff, and performing skilled work of considerable difficulty in the areas of maintenance and repairs, the upkeep of the Town’s infrastructure such as buildings, roads and streets, water distribution lines, pump stations, drainage/stormwater collection systems, and landscaping.  The Public Works Supervisor will work under the supervision and direction of the Town Manager.

 

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license, with five (5) years of Public Works or related experience, preferably in a government setting. Water distribution and stormwater collection systems management, supervisory experience, and technical training in equipment operation and maintenance preferred. Current Level C Stormwater certification and FDEP Level 3 Water Distribution certification preferred. Starting Salary $61,500 based upon qualifications and experience.

  • Could Ocean Ridge pass an ordinance that the Public Works Supervisor could never be replaced?  Kind of like what the town is doing for the police.  It would certainly make things less stressful knowing that you had a job for life no matter what.

  • Does this position allow working from home?  After six weeks of covid holiday it’s hard to get motivated for that 9 to 5 thing.  Would it be possible to come into the office like one day a week?
