Local businesswoman Cary Caster has purchased the original Chevrolet dealership and service center in downtown Delray Beach and plans on converting the facility into a modern, ‘loft style’ office building. Located on north bound Federal Highway at SE 3rd Street, the city has designated the property historic and the CRA is contributing grant money towards its redevelopment.

New amenities at the property will include exposed wood truss ceilings, ‘green’ mechanical systems and super high speed internet access. Reserved, weather protected parking is adjacent to each suite with electrical connections for electric vehicles and hybrid cars.

The project was originally designed by Sam Ogren, Delray’s first resident architect. It was constructed in 1950 in the distinctive MIMO Subtropical Modernist style that was popular in South Florida after World War II.   Other local landmarks by Ogren include the Delray Beach Elementary School and Arcade Tap Room on Atlantic Avenue.

Caster is the founder of 21 Drops, a line of therapeutic grade essential oils used for medicinal purposes. Her modern brand of all natural, easy to use products in contemporary packaging is sold nationally at retailers including Sephora and QVC. The building when completed will become the new headquarters for the company.

The architect for the new improvements is Richard Jones Associates. The general contractor is Bieber Construction and Knight Group is the real estate broker for the space available for lease.
