Palm Beach County – On Thursday, September 18, Mindy Hanken, Executive Director of Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach, spoke to Rotary Club of Palm Beach members during its luncheon at BiCE Ristorante on Worth Avenue, Palm Beach. Mindy shared insights on the importance of every girl’s future and how Pace Palm Beach is helping girls and young women set and reach their life goals. She spoke about the year-round, tuition-free, second-chance school and its strength-based, gender-responsive approach, which recognizes each girl’s unique challenges and strengths while offering guidance that empowers students to succeed. Mindy’s presentation provided a deeper understanding of Pace Palm Beach’s mission and invited members to show their support for its transformative programs.

The Rotary Club of Palm Beach luncheon provided a meaningful platform to connect community leaders with Pace’s mission of empowering young women and girls in the community through education, counseling, and advocacy. Rotary members gained a firsthand understanding of the barriers many girls face and how Pace’s holistic model helps students re-engage in their education, build healthy relationships, and develop confidence for a brighter future. Mindy reinforced to Rotary members that when girls are supported with the right resources, they can transform their lives and make lasting contributions to their communities.

“I’m grateful to the Rotary Club of Palm Beach for welcoming me to speak at its luncheon,” said Mindy Hanken, Executive Director of Pace Center for Girls Palm Beach. “It was a pleasure to connect with members and share how Pace Palm Beach is helping girls in our community find their voice, achieve their goals, and build brighter futures.”

Pace Palm Beach is a safe and supportive environment for over 150 girls served annually in Palm Beach County. Girls at Pace Palm Beach also receive life coaching to learn essential life skills, such as personal hygiene, grocery shopping, and landing their first job. The second-chance school also offers therapy and counseling services for teenage girls throughout Palm Beach County, available at schools, homes, and community locations.  These resources are made available to girls at no cost.

The Rotary Club of Palm Beach, led by Club President Paul Tripaldi, has a long-standing dedication to “service above self,” bringing together business, professional, and community leaders to address real-world challenges with passion and vision. For more than 110 years, Rotary members have championed sustainable projects that promote literacy, health, peace, and goodwill worldwide. Hosting Mindy Hanken at its luncheon reflects this commitment by fostering awareness about supporting the youth in Palm Beach County—a key factor in improving community wellness and empowering the next generation to lead healthier, more independent lives. Her presentation not only educated members but also nurtured the club’s mission to promote integrity, service, and the advancement of well-being in the Palm Beach community.
