We seek an organized, innovative, hands-on person who can help us in our efforts to run a successful 501c3 non-profit business.  As an employee of the Friends of Gumbo Limbo, you will directly contribute to the success of our Board which will help us to underwrite educational endeavors, conservation projects, and other critical initiatives and advisory services to support the mission and vision of Gumbo Limbo Nature Center.

This position is responsible for:

1)      Administrative support of Friends, including events and programs

2)      Providing support to the Board and Board Committees for organizing meetings and follow up activities

3)      Be the “day-to-day” face of Friends at the GLNC and be in full support of our mission

4)      Under guidance of Development Committee, perform tasks to maintain and expand sources of funding (donors, grants, event sponsors, foundations, etc) and membership.

The ideal candidate for this position will strive to collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with Board Members, with close attention to our unique culture and operational structure.

Interested?  You should have a love of people, animals, events and the outdoors, plus: 

•          College degree or equivalent experience

•          Three to five years of related experience with increasing responsibility in supporting a management team in growing a business.  Work in non-profits, membership/fundraising/development/business management a plus.    

•          Excellent written and oral communications. 

•          Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and Publisher) to create, manipulate, and design documents through final production

•          Demonstrated basic skills in website management, and social media
