Countdown to a new Callaro’s!

For more than a decade, Callaro’s Prime Steak and Seafood has been providing the finest cuts of prime aged beef in South Florida.  It’s no wonder they have repeatedly been named one of the best steakhouses of South Florida most recently by the Sun Sentinel.  But Callaro’s has come to a crossroads, and it’s time for them to relocate.  On May 29, 2011, Callaro’s finished out their lease and moved from their Plaza Del Mar location in Manalapan.  Negotiations for a new Callaro’s location are currently underway, and the restaurant will be back up and running shortly!

The silver lining of this temporary closing is that Callaro’s will be bringing some of their most popular dishes to sister restaurant, Riggins Crabhouse, during the transition. Chef Keith Scragg will be joining Riggins Chef Geno in the kitchen and the result for diners will be the ultimate in surf and turf!  Along with bringing the infamous Callaro’s Happy Hour to the newly renovated Riggins Lounge, you’ll now be able to order from a limited Callaro’s menu that will include their mouthwatering cuts of Prime Aged Beef, Escargot, French Onion Soup and so much more. According to co-owner Danny Callaro, “This is an exciting time for us to find the best space for a new Callaro’s.  With the upcoming closing of the Lantana Bridge, the loss of the Florida Stage and occupancy limited in the Plaza, the time is right for us to find the perfect permanent location that will serve our guests better and encourage new business.” Chef Keith and wife Beth who manages Callaro’s front of house added, “We would like to thank our loyal patrons who have been like family to us and have supported us so strongly in the past 10 years. We hope you’ll visit us now at Riggins and soon in our exciting new location.”
