The generous donation will equip the new Education Center at Children’s Harbor with resources and tools for teens in foster care to use to support academic growth. Children’s Harbor has licensed educators onsite to assist teens with remote learning as they work towards their individual learning goals and become independent adults.
“We are incredibly grateful to have received this generous donation from the Coke Florida team,” said Tiffani Dhooge, President and CEO of Children’s Harbor. “This significant contribution will make a profound difference in the lives of the children we serve. With these new resources, we can enhance our students’ learning experiences through cutting-edge digital tools and technologies. This will empower them to develop the knowledge and skills they need to grow into educated, self-sufficient, and successful adults. We are honored by Coke Florida’s commitment to supporting children’s education and well-being in our community. This donation represents a transformative investment in the futures of our young people.”

Children’s Harbor’s focus is to break cycles and change the lives of teens in foster care. The donation of laptops from Coke Florida has helped with this overarching goal. The nationally accredited nonprofit’s main campus in Pembroke Pines provides a supportive family environment for teenagers in foster care and their younger siblings. The family support services program prevents kids from coming into foster care by providing free in-home counseling and support to families who are struggling in the community.

“Coke Florida is continuously seeking out ways to further support our local communities and build upon our dedication to education,” said Terrence Gee, Senior Vice President, Technology & Enterprise Transformation, Coke Florida. “Providing access to resources like laptops is just the beginning. It’s a catalyst for educating, encouraging, and demystifying technology, ultimately allowing digital fluency to flourish in the ways underserved students need it most. This is how Coke Florida is helping to prepare the future generation for success.”

About Children’s Harbor
Established in 1996, Children’s Harbor is a nationally accredited child welfare organization with a mission to help strengthen families who are struggling in our community, while providing safe shelter and support to teens in foster care so that they may grow into healthy, educated and productive adults. With the belief that children should feel safe, that family is worth fighting for and that cycles can be broken, Children’s Harbor provides a harbor of hope and healing for children who have been impacted by the trauma of child abuse. The main campus in Pembroke Pines provides a supportive family environment for teenagers in foster care and their younger siblings. The family support services program prevents kids from coming into foster care by providing free in-home counseling and support to families who are struggling in the community. Additionally, Brown’s Harbor is a supportive housing community dedicated to serving young adults, aged 18-23, who have aged out of the foster care system. These young adults are provided with affordable housing and the wrap-around support and independent living programs necessary to help them overcome their trauma and navigate through the early stages of adulthood.
