THE LAST OF THE ROMANOV TSARS AND THEIR FABULOUS FABERG’ EGGS - the Romanov dynasty lasted 300 years. The tsars amassed unbelievable fortunes, as is true of most monarchies. They also faced the constant threat of assassination, which is also true of most monarchies. Of the 20 monarchs in the dynasty, 10 were assumed to have been assassinated. Others had faced failed attempts.

The last two monarchs, Tsar Alexander III and Tsar Nicholas II commissioned the House of Faberge’ to create Easter eggs like none other the world had ever seen. Encrusted with diamonds and rubies, executed in gold and platinum, the eggs were presented to the wives and mothers of the two Tsars. Each egg  had a surprise inside. The eggs celebrated the lives of the last two Tsars and their families. This is the story of the fabulous Faberge’ eggs and the history of the last two Tsars that the eggs revealed. Included in this presentation is the contrast between the royal wealth and the poverty of the masses, a contrast which had fatal results for the dynasty.
