A 2½-year-old golden retriever/poodle mix stole the show at the 23rd annual fundraiser. Chairwoman Lois Pope introduced the raven-haired dog, named Patton, to a crowd of more than 600. Patton is the offspring of a long line of U.S. military war dogs. He wasn’t the only highlight of the evening, as the Palm Beach Symphony entertained guests at a poolside reception and a 1920s speakeasy theme took over the ballroom. Gladys Knight was the featured performer, and organizers raised more than $1.2 million to benefit American Humane. ABOVE: Lois Pope with American Humane CEO Robin Ganzert.
