Problems with Verizon Wireless Coverage

Hi Neighbors,

I don't know how many of you this might affect, but figured I'd at least bring it to your attention.
I've had Verizon Wireless for many years and have been relatively pleased with the service (as pleased as anyone is with any cellular service, which isn't saying much).
Over the last few months, I've noticed a lot more dropped calls and poor signal levels on the island (East of the Intracoastal, between Atlantic Ave and George Bush Blvd.).
The further east on the island, the lower the signal strength, to the point I drop calls with regulrity.
I have spoken to Verizon a couple of times regarding these problems and they finally confirmed that, after a past tower realignment, we are now in a NULL signal area.
I suspect if you were just offshore on your boat, you would get no coverage at all. Due to all the summer rain, I haven't tested this theory lately...
Verizon said that there is nothing they are willing to do, and that they don't plan to provide us islanders any better signal. They also agreed that this is completely their fault and is legitimate grounds to nullify any service contracts without assessing an early termination penalty.
In summary, if you're a Verizon Wireless customer living here on the island, and are experiencing the same poor signal problems, you can get out of your Verizon contract and switch to a different provider without penalty.
