After 2014’s successful art exhibit in March to commemorate World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st), Gold Coast Down Syndrome Organization and Very Special Arts are joining forces again this year to promote art and awareness of Down syndrome.  Art will be on exhibit at the Gold Coast Down Syndrome Resource Center, 915 S. Federal Highway, Boynton Beach from March 11th -March 31st, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The works will be created by adults with Down syndrome who will attend four VSA ArtMerge classes taught by local professional during the first two weeks of March. World Down Syndrome Day is celebrated throughout the world on March 21st.  The date was chosen because people with Down syndrome have 3 copies of the 21st chromosome. The goal is to promote knowledge and understanding, seek international support, and achieve dignity, equal rights and a better life for people with Down syndrome everywhere.
