Please join us for a screening of the HBO documentary 50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus. Produced in association with the Museum, this film recounts the little-known story of Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus's extraordinary efforts to save 50 young lives in the heart of the Nazi empire just a few months after Kristallnacht, the worst outbreak of organized violence instigated by the Nazis against Jews until that point. A conversation with filmmaker Steven Pressman, Paul Shapiro, director of the Museum's Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies and Daniel Kraus, Granson of Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus, will follow the film. The 2013-2014 Speaker and Film Series is chaired by Helen Marshall.
