Since George Ohr’s days working in relative obscurity along the shore in Mississippi, his avant-garde ceramics have gone on to inspire a new generation of highly-regarded artists including Kathy Butterly, Nicole Cherubini, the Haas Brothers, and Ken Price. The Mad Potter of Biloxi is now regarded as the “clay prophet” whose creations anticipated the convention-shattering trends we see in the medium today. Renowned ceramics expert Garth Clark shares his knowledge and experience in the field of contemporary ceramics in this lecture and lunch, followed by a docent led tour of the Regarding George Ohr exhibition.

RSVP required by November 3rd. This event is the first of a three-part Lecture & Lunch Series presented by the Friends Auxiliary.

Tickets: $75 at bocamuseum.org/friends
