Jesse Jones, Jr. is known as the Father of Scat Hop, a newer style of music that combines soul, funk, jazz, scat and rhythm and blues. In addition to being a spectacular saxophonist, Jones is also an accomplished vocalist and plays with a mix of musical styles that results in a funky yet almost classical rendering. Jones is a Miami Jazz Hall of Fame inductee and credits Cannonball Adderley as his primary influence.
