The Jewish Cultural Society at Florida Atlantic University is inviting the public to an enlightening presentation by Roz Davidson and Howard Hoffer who recently returned from an extensive trip to Israel, where they continued researching the Dead Sea Scrolls. While in Israel and for more than a year prior to their visit, the couple was in touch with educators and scholars who gave them access to rare documents, including information on archaeological discoveries and visuals. The Boynton Beach couple will show a rare 35-minute DVD following their talk, taking listeners from Africa’s East Rift Valley through Qumran to the Shrine of the Book in Jerusalem. View and hear how modern science and technology are unlocking the secrets of the Dead Sea Scrolls. How did the scrolls end up hidden in caves for 2000 years? Davidson, an author and lecturer, and Hoffer, retired businessman, are vice presidents of the Jewish Cultural Society (JCS) at Florida Atlantic University, which is sponsoring the presentation. Books and other items will be available for purchase. Cost: $12 for members, $20 for two family members, $15 for each non-member Contact: dottiepierce@comcast.net at 561-852-9720 or bobbystarsky@att.net at 561-735-0176.
