The Boynton Beach Historical Society welcomes you to a FREE presentation on Monday, Oct 17, 2016 at the Boynton Beach City Library in the Program Room. We hold our Meet & Greet from 6:30-7p; and the program from 7-8p.

This month's program will be given by Kenneth Wilbanks, Director of The Gold Coast Band and he will present "Boynton Beach’s Own Gold Coast Band. 40 years. 4 Conductors. One of the Finest Community Bands in Florida."

Ken Wilbanks will discuss the band’s humble beginnings, its growth of today to over 110 members, the Band’s recent selection as one of the top 8 bands in the country, and its invitation to perform at the National Convention in 2017. Discussion will also include the Band’s new structure, change to a non-profit status, how the Band fits into the City’s new proposal to bring Arts to the City, its use of modern musical media presentations and social media to the change of musical repertoire and venues. If time permits, Ken will discuss future goals and aspirations and how The Gold Coast Band can bring a positive change to the community of Boynton Beach.

SAVE THE DATES for our next two programs: Nov 14 (Library), Jan 16 (Woman's Club)
