Palm Beach County is prone to extreme weather events such as floods and hurricanes.  With an active hurricane season predicted and changes to the National Flood Insurance Program, residents are encouraged to equip themselves with the knowledge needed to prepare for the hurricane and rainy season.

Together with the Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management and the Boynton Beach Mall, floodplain managers of the Community Rating System are hosting the

13th Annual Flood and Hurricane Expo on June 15 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Boynton Beach Mall.  The event will include exhibitors featuring the latest preparedness

products and experts to answer questions on a personal level.

The event is free of charge.  All residents are encouraged to attend to learn the information necessary to make a plan, build a kit, stay informed, and get involved.  “Events like the Expo are important because they connect concerned residents with credible preparedness information and practitioners,” said Bill Johnson, Director of Palm Beach County Division of Emergency Management.
